Appropriate participation in the acts of the 5th WMF means the respective registration: it is important that all those attending register, so that the organisation knows how many pilgims will be present (even if they are resident in Valencia) and to make it possible to organise the acts better.

Rules for registering

Registration for the 5th WMF can be done through parish churches, diocese, movements, associations, schools, brotherhoods, clubs or other bodies that the group members are linked to.

The person in charge of the group must register before the organisation as the local Promoter: he/she will be responsible for processing the registrations and receiving all the necessary information.

Registration includes:

• the respective credentials to attend the acts in the allocated sector;
  
  
• The pilgrim's pack:

  Senior (age 14 and up) 35 €

  Junior (between 7 and 14 years) 15 €

  Those younger than 7 years old do not need to obtain the pilgrim's pack, but registration is necessary.

• the possibility of applying for basic accommodation

  Pilgrims older than 7: basic accommodation per day 12 €

  Pilgrims younger than 7: basic accommodation per day 5 €

Registration will be confirmed by e-mail to the local Promoter, who will be able to alter the personal details on the same page if necessary, as long as this is before 30th April 2006. As from that date, cancellations will mean an economic penalization and new requests will only be attended to if there are spares of each item (credentials, packs, basic accommodation and food packs).

Important.- Do not forget to put the number or code of the group in the comments on the transfer and remember that occasionally it takes a few days from the date of emission until the date of receipt. Do not wait until the last minute to make the transfer or it may arrive after registration has closed.

Once the transfer has been made, send a copy of the receipt.

Special registrations

• Bishops: registration for Bishops and those accompanying them (Secretary, episcopal Vicars, etc.) is to be done directly at the Secretary's office of the Archbishop of Valencia ([email protected]), where the necessary information will also be given.
  
  
• Priests and deacons: they register like any other member of the group they are in, and at the same time, they request their confirmation from the diocese or institution which they are incardinated in, giving their name and surname there, and the group which they are participating with; also, they must bring with them an alb and a white stole and make sure that the respective credentials are included on the documentation that will be given to their group, to have access to specific places and to be able to practise their ministry.
  
  
• Journalists: they will apply for their credentials directly through the Press section of this website.

Accommodation

As a general rule, it is recommended that pilgrims arrange their accommodation themselves from their places of origin.

Bookings at hotels or similar establishments

The 5th WMF Foundation has signed a collaboration Agreement with the travel agency Cavaltour, with the purpose of providing pilgrims with reasonably priced travel and accommodation:

Booking accommodation through this agency or others does not mean automatic registration, this always has to be done by the local Promoter through the respective page of this website: Local Promoters Register.

Basic accommodation outside the hotel network

They are a series of places to stay offered through Parish churches, Schools, Movements, Sports centres etc., as well as families who offer their own homes, all outside the hotel network. Igloo tents will be set up in the collective areas to guarantee minimum privacy.

This type of accommodation will be limited to the duration of the 5th WMF, according to the needs of each group and the existing possibilities.

Because of the peculiarity of its characteristics, requests must be made directly by the group that needs accommodation, on registering. Any application coming from a travel agency or other intermediary will automatically be rejected. Due to operative reasons, individual applications will not be admitted either.

The amount payable for this concept is symbolic and the same for everybody, and its purpose is to cover the essential adequacy costs.

In the distribution of this accommodation, priority will be given to language affinity, closeness to the city and easy access to public transport. It will start as from the closing of the registration period, and local Promoters will be informed inmediately, with all the necessary information.

Even though we will try to make joint relations and activities possible in each group, in cases where numbers are large the group may need to be divided.

Campsites and caravans

The organization will not consider organising or booking places on campsites or caravans, this will have to be done directly by those interested.

Offering home accommodation

Those Valencian families who are willing to put up pilgrims in their homes, should let their parishes, schools, movements, associations, etc., know, so that they can get in touch with the organization, to coordinate it.

If it is not possible to make this offer as mentioned above, accommodation can be offered to the organisation directly by e-mail [email protected] or by telephone 0034 96 382 9747. In these cases, easy access to public transport will be a necessary condition.

Journeys

Each group must organise their journey to Valencia themselves. Transport can be arranged through the travel agency Cavaltour (see above) or by any other.

While the WMF is being held, public transport in the metropolitan area of Valencia, and other areas that have centres providing accommodation, will be considerably increased .
