Monsignor Garcia-Gasco informs the pope about the preparations of the 5th WMF (22-10-05) Valencia - The Valencian Archbishop, monsignor Agustín García-Gasco, returned last night to Rome, where he has informed the pope Benedict XVI about preparations of the 5th WMF and has held various meetings with members of the Vatican curie. The prelate, who was greeted by the pontiff after the general audience last Wednesday held different meetings with the members of the Pontifical council for the family, presided by the Colombian cardinal Alfonso López Trujillo, as well as with cardinals of the Vatican curie and other cardinals and archbishops of the various European, Southamerican and Australian capitals. In the course of the meetings, monsignor García-Gasco gave detailed information about preparations in Valencia regarding the Fifth WMF, the organisation for the participants and foresight in regards of infrastructure and the available space for the central acts of the WMF. On the other hand, the president of the Pontifical council for the family, monsignor Alfonso López Trujillo, has planned to visit Valencia again on the 27th and 28th October to, within other activities, hold an information meeting with all parishes, the agency AVAN has learned from sources of the WMF organisation today. A couple from each parish will also attend. This meeting is intended to design the pastoral contents that parishes from Valencia will develop during the next months to prepare WMF, according to the same sources. The pastoral plan on the preparations for the WMF consists of ten catechesis given in all parishes of the diocese and "culminates with the organization in each one of the parishes of a week dedicated to the family". The plan that the catechesis approach is "the main aspects of the life of a family from a Christian point of view and, above all, the transmission of faith and the values of the Christian family just as the necessity of an integrated education of their children. Furthermore, the auxiliary archbishop of Valencia monsignor Salvador Giménez has visited for the last few weeks various areas of the archdioceses to establish with priests the guidelines of the pastoral preparations of the WMF.
