The singer Carlos Robles collaborates with the WMF (25-06-2005)

The Spanish singer Carlos Robles has composed the music for the promotional video of the V WMF. It is a honour for the artist to collaborate in this event, since “the family and the Church are two pillars of the society that are enormously contributing to their development”. For this motive, “we need to support them more then ever before, now that some are trying to question them”.

In the last few months, the singer and composer from Alicante alternates his collaboration with the WMF with the promotion of his second CD, “Me muero de ganas”, which has recently been released. His repertoire combines pop, latin and caribbean tunes and lyrics about love and problems of the modern society, including immigration or the home violence.

Precisely the solidarity with those more in need is one of the virtues that are most stressed by the Church: “Let's put it this way - the Church is the biggest non-governmental organisation in history”. It is for this motive that he regrets more the harassment it is suffering lately: “An institution that helps so much deserves different treat.”

Some even “put in doubt the Christian roots of our society, and it is unfair, because its footprint is clearly seen, not only from a religious or moral view, but also in other fields, such as legal aspects or architecture”.

Married with his wife Marta, and with a nine-month son, whose name is Carlos, the singer understands that the WMF is going to be very important to “reassert the family”, because its identity is now at risk.
